Financial Times names TLT as one of the most innovative law firms in Europe

TLT has been named as one of the most innovative law firms in Europe at the Financial Times' Innovative Lawyers Awards 2010. The firm was awarded one of the highest accolades, 'stand out', within the category of efficiency for its innovative property development extranet which is designed to help developers and registered providers sell housing plots.

In its annual Innovative Lawyers report, which praises the extranet as a "good example" of how law firms can achieve efficiencies for the benefit of clients, the Financial Times states that, "In a jittery housing market the speed of transactions gives clients the edge". The bespoke extranets are giving TLT's developer clients a commercial advantage by ensuring that sales move swiftly to completion, enabling the developer to receive funds more quickly.

The Financial Times continues "The platform on a private network cuts the replication of individual documents on block housing transactions". Developer clients benefit from significant time and cost savings as the necessary legal information is available online, eliminating the need to print and post legal packs. There is also an environmental benefit to this approach.

TLT offers bespoke property development extranets at no cost to the client. They are created and hosted by TLT and provide 24/7 access to all of the legal documents and information that may be required by a potential buyer including plans relating to the specific plots for sale.

Managing Partner David Pester says, "Innovation and delivering value to clients have been key to TLT's growth in the last 10 years. We operate in a fiercely competitive market and we will continue to look at new ways of working to deliver efficiency and value to clients. I'm delighted our efforts have been recognised by the FT."

TLT has had previous success with the FT Awards. In 2008 the firm was named as one of the most innovative law firm in Europe and highly commended for its innovative pensions extranet. In previous years TLT has been commended for innovation in the Financial Services sector and highly commended for Marketing and PR for a client event and highly commended for innovation in client service.

This success builds on a great year for the firm which has also been named as one of the top five UK legal employers by Legal Week magazine. The firm also had double success at this year's Managing Partners' Forum European Practice Management Awards where it was awarded for its innovative learning programmes for staff and its brand new offices in the heart of the City of London.
